Weerribben in Overijssel

Overijssel is home to the beautiful Weerribben nature reserve. On the edge of this is the town of Ossenzijl where we are ready for you with our attractively furnished tipi tents. On the program are a number of beautiful walks and canoe trips through the area. Have you never sat in a canoe? No problem. Professional open canoeists will first give you basic skills training. So you can paddle with confidence.
Our food truck joins this journey and Kim makes the most delicious dishes in it.

On adventure

Day 1 | 6km

Today you are expected at the campsite from 9:30 am. Kim and Jan are ready to welcome you and show you around the campsite. After lunch we start with a short walk of about 6 km. We walk through the town of Ossenzijl and through the nature reserve. Along the way we experience the peace in this area and we hear and see many birds that live in this peat area. We then go into the shop of Staatsbosbeheer where there is a small museum about the area. Arriving back at the campsite near the water, we drink something delicious and Kim and Jan start preparing a delicious dinner. The fire is lit and we see slowly setting the sun

The Weerribben-Wieden, Overijssel

The Weerribben is a 35 km² nature reserve in the province of Overijssel. It forms part of the National Park Weerribben-Wieden and is largely owned by Staatsbosbeheer.
In 2007, the park was expanded with the De Wieden area, which is comparable in nature to the south and is largely owned by Natuurmonumenten. Together they form the Weerribben-Wieden National Park, which is almost 100 km² in size. Together they form one of the most important wetlands in Europe. The otter can be found in the area together with many storks, bluethroats and others. the bittern, little reed warbler and the reed warbler
