Walking holiday Spain
Hiking the GR92, the coastal route of Spanish Catalonia, is one of the most beautiful routes in Spain. The routes pass old abandoned Roman and Greek settlements and small dreamy fishing villages. The route partly follows the coast, but also goes through the hills where you have beautiful views over the Costa Brava.
Along the way you will taste typical Catalan dishes and the sea is often close by for a nice dip. Combine that with the unique concept of Pippin Hikes with luggage transport, pitched tepee tents and all meals, then it becomes a top enjoyment. Olé!

The Gr-92 Catalonia
The route we follow is the coastal route along the rugged coast of Catalonia. The route is super varied. For example, we walk parts along the rugged coast, but we also regularly go inland where we walk along orchards, through a number of nature reserves with birds, deer and other wildlife. We also walk over a mountain ridge where we have a magnificent view of the Pyrenees and the coast. Along the way we enjoy the delicious food that comes from Kim's kitchen. She lets you taste typical Spanish with local wines. You can walk together with Jan and the group or completely at your own pace. We will give you a route map in gpx. Along the way, Jan and the group regularly stop for a break, to take photos or for fun facts about the region we are walking through. We are not in a hurry, at most we eat an hour later.

Day 1 | 16km
Portbou to El port de la Selva.
Today we meet at the train station of Portbou near the French border. Your luggage goes in the Pippinbus and you walk with a daypack. First we start with a cup of coffee and we can get to know each other a bit. Then we start the walk over the GR92. We stop briefly at the Walter Benjamin monument at Colera, which is a kind of tunnel to the sea. We walk along deserted beaches and have a view of the beautiful Costa Brava. After about 14 km we arrive in Llancà-El Port de la Selva where we spend the night. Here you can take a lovely dip in the Mediterranean Sea. In the evening we enjoy a delicious meal from Pippin Foods.
